Basketball Recap: North Davidson Takes a Loss

North Davidson played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Oak Grove Grizzlies 69-18. The Black Knights haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, North Davidson still got an impressive performance from Abby Sawyers, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave Sawyers a new career-high in points. Emerson North also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Oak Grove found their leader in sophomore Victoria Lockamy, who scored 20 points and five steals. Lockamy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Kalin Favreau was another key player, going 7 for 14 en route to 17 points.

North Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Oak Grove, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

North Davidson has already played their next contest, a 42-25 defeat against Central Davidson on the 17th. As for Oak Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-39 win against Montgomery Central on the 17th.
