Baseball Game Preview: St. Mary Saints vs. Gateway Regional Gators

St. Mary has gone a perfect 9-0 against Gateway Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Saints will face off against the Gators at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

St. Mary came up short against Sabis International on Monday, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Gateway Regional couldn't beat Pathfinder RVT on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the third inning. The Gators lost 20-9 to the Pioneers. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Gateway Regional, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

St. Mary took their win against Gateway Regional in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
