Baseball Game Preview: Warren Central Vikings vs. Germantown Mavericks

The Warren Central Vikings will square off against the Germantown Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren Central will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Warren Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Neshoba Central.

Beau Bradley looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Warren Central is undefeated when Bradley allowsone or fewer hits, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Blake Caruthers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Germantown's offense. They came up short against Starkville on Friday, falling 10-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Warren Central pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Germantown, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Warren Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Germantown in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 6-4. Does Warren Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Germantown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
