Baseball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

North Raleigh Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 victory the Buccaneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

Jackson Rowlands made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jackson Tysor was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. David Mertz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

North Raleigh Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte Country Day School only posted a batting average of .250.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte Country Day School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will venture away from home to square off against Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they will challenge Carmel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carmel Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Charlotte Country Day School likes a good challenge.
