Basketball Recap: Naples Comes Up Short

Naples suffered their biggest loss since January 15th on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Honeoye Bulldogs and fell 75-45. While losing is never fun, the Big Green Machines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 677th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 79th).

Naples' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Honeoye, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Coming up, Naples will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Jacket at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Honeoye, they are taking a road trip to square off against Genesee Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Honeoye knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Genesee Valley likes a good challenge.
