Basketball Recap: St. Anthony's Takes Down Holy Trinity in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Anthony walked away with it. They walked away with a 65-54 win over the Holy Trinity Titans on Friday. Given the Friars' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Titans are ranked 191st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Kevin Moore, who shot 75% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.8% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Vieux, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points.

Moore wasn't the only one working in the assist department: St. Anthony's was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. St. Anthony's is 21-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

St. Anthony's is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. With the defeat, Holy Trinity broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-10.

Looking ahead, St. Anthony's will face off against St. Dominic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
