Marist had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mount Paran Christian Eagles on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the War Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Marist won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20.

Marist found their leader in freshman Sawyer Straley, who had ten digs and five assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mount Paran Christian fell to 2-1.

Coincidentally, Marist and Mount Paran Christian will both be playing Blessed Trinity the next time they take the court. The War Eagles will head out to face the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
