Fort Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Angel Lopez, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lopez a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Carlo Bassalle, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Fort Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eaton). They breezed past Valley to the tune of 91-53 on Tuesday. The Reds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.
Fort Morgan better focus on containing Crew Haythorn and Noah Sprinkle as the pair were huge in Eaton's win. Haythorn went 8-for-14 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points and seven boards, while Sprinkle dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sprinkle also grabbed four steals, which is notable because Eaton is 4-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 7-8 otherwise. Ely Madaleno was another key player, going 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points.
Eaton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Fort Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fort Morgan has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Eaton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
