Baseball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Warrenton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Warrenton by a score of 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for Winfield in their meetings with Warrenton: they've now lost six in a row.

Winfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Morse, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Warrenton, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Winfield will head out on the road to challenge Holt at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warrenton, they will take on Liberty in a tournament on Friday.
