             Two dominant  backs in  Tyler Payton and  Tilyn Carrell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Elmore County Panthers will square off against the Valley Rams at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
 Elmore County will head out to face Valley after giving up their first home loss of the season  on Friday. Elmore County lost  29-7 to Central of Clay County. It was the first time  this season that the Panthers let down their fans at home.
 Meanwhile, Valley strolled past Sylacauga with  points to spare on Friday, taking the game  26-7. Given the Rams' advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings  (they are ranked 109th, while the Aggies are ranked 221st), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 It was another big night for  Carrell, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. He is  on a roll when it comes to  rushing touchdowns, as he's  now  punched in two or more in the last three games he's  played dating back to last season.
 Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Galvin Goss.  Nikelen Linson was another major factor on D,  picking up  two  sacks and making ten total tackles.
 Valley was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 341  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 281  rushing yards in three consecutive  matchups.
 Elmore County's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Valley,  the  victory  got them back to even at 3-3.
 Elmore County and Valley were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup  back in October of 2023, but Elmore County came up empty-handed after  a  41-40 defeat. Thankfully for Elmore County,  Cam?Ron Dooley (who threw for 386 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 16.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
