Baseball Game Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. Jamestown Eagles

The Lafayette Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Jamestown Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lafayette is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Friday, it was close, but Lafayette sidestepped Smithfield for a 4-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

Brady Isaksen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kyle Kremer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Jamestown came up short against Poquoson on Friday and fell 5-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jamestown now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Lafayette, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Lafayette came out on top in a nail-biter against Jamestown in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
