Basketball Recap: Ovilla Christian Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Ovilla Christian had won two straight home games and Sophie Henry did her part to make it three on Friday. The Ovilla Christian Eagles were the clear victor by a 48-22 margin over the Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen thanks in part to Henry, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 21 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last 51 times she's played.

Jessica Marshall was another key player, putting up six points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Ovilla Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Garland Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Ovilla Christian Eagles take on the Alcuin Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Garland Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garland Christian Academy is facing Cambridge at the right time seeing as Cambridge is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
