Softball Recap: Mater Academy East Las Vegas Comes Up Short

Mater Academy East Las Vegas and Pahrump Valley squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mater Academy East Las Vegas had to settle for second. They lost 18-8 to the Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in March.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. As for Pahrump Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pahrump Valley, they will square off against Virgin Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 12.5 runs per game this season.
