Softball Recap: Walt Whitman Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Walt Whitman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Brentwood Indians 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won seven in a row.

Brynn Iacovone spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Walt Whitman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leilani Servellon, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Anaya Aleman was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Walt Whitman's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Brentwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
