Baseball Game Preview: Belen Eagles vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers

The Belen Eagles will face off against the Albuquerque Academy Chargers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Albuquerque Academy is facing Belen at the wrong time: Belen suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Albuquerque Academy sidestepped Bernalillo for a 2-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Matthew Delaney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Belen's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Albuquerque Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
