Basketball Recap: Jill Huffaker and Isla Hardy Secure Win for Central

Central fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They had just enough and edged the Hatton Hornets out 46-44. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Hornets back in December of 2024, they had to take a 68-48 loss.

Central was led to victory by Isla Hardy and Jill Huffaker. Hardy almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, while Huffaker dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Huffaker has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Paislee Ticer, who posted five points.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Hatton, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Central has already played their next matchup, a 47-39 win against Wilson on the 20th. As for Hatton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-57 loss against East Lawrence on the 20th.
