Football Recap: Chris Jaimes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carpinteria over Channel Islands

Carpinteria was the 47-6 winner over Channel Islands when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Thursday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carpinteria lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Chris Jaimes, who picked up 76 receiving yards and one TD. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Neri, who rushed for 68 yards and one score.

Channel Islands' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luis Hernandez, who rushed for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 118 rushing yards gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rajai Moody, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Carpinteria's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Channel Islands, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Carpinteria nor Channel Islands have any future games scheduled.
