Basketball Game Preview: Collegiate Cougars vs. Woodberry Forest Tigers

Collegiate and Woodberry Forest are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Collegiate Cougars take on the Woodberry Forest Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Collegiate's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

Last Tuesday, Collegiate was fully in charge, breezing past Fork Union Military Academy 75-39. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Woodberry Forest entered their match against Trinity Episcopal on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The game between Woodberry Forest and Trinity Episcopal didn't end well, with Woodberry Forest falling 72-53.

Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Woodberry Forest, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.
