Football Recap: Albany Comes Up Short

Albany had taken Independence down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Hornets fell 26-16 to the Tigers. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 27-8 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Albany and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Independence, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Albany will look to defend their home field on October 3 against Jefferson RISE Charter at 7:00 p.m. As for Independence, they will venture away from home to square off against Ponchatoula at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
