Basketball Recap: Brashear Comes Up Short

Brashear lost to Heartland Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell 59-51 to the Eagles. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 16-10 in the first quarter.

Heartland Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Rylee Kiser posted 21 points and Titus Bock earned 18 points. The game was Bock's 19th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Nickerson, who scored nine points.

Brashear has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Heartland Christian Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Brashear will face off against Keytesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heartland Christian Academy, they will challenge Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
