Soccer Game Preview: Waverly Central vs. Wayne County

The Waverly Central Tigers will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Wayne County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Waverly Central's offense. They came up short against Huntingdon on Monday, falling 8-0. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wayne County lost 10-1 to Richland on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Waverly Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wayne County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Waverly Central couldn't quite get it done against Wayne County when the teams last played back in May of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can Waverly Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
