Basketball Recap: Glascock County Comes Up Short

Glascock County lost against Briarwood Academy last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 36-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since December 17, 2024.

Cutler Fleming had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 12 points along with five boards and four steals for Briarwood Academy. That's the most steals Fleming has posted since back in January. Trey Cotton was another key player, scoring eight points and five rebounds.

Glascock County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Briarwood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Glascock County and Briarwood Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Panthers see the court they'll take on Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2026. As for Briarwood Academy, their break will end when they face Fullington Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
