It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Falfurrias had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Rio Hondo Bobcats 10-0. The Fightin' Jerseys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Nathaniel Jaramillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jax Garcia was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ben Benavides, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Falfurrias always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Hondo only posted an OBP of .348.

Falfurrias is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Rio Hondo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-13.

Coming up, Falfurrias will venture away from home to square off against Bishop at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Fightin' Jerseys 2.7, the Badgers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Rio Hondo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
