Tri-Central falls despite strong effort from Autumn Hurt

Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Rossville Hornets

The Tri-Central Trojans were the 36-19 winner over the Rossville Hornets when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tri-Central fell 46-33 to Rossville on Friday. Tri-Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Tri-Central still got an impressive performance from Autumn Hurt, who scored ten points along with five steals. Hurt has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Logan Creason was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.

Rossville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Burkle, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Burkle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cortney Huffman, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Tri-Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Rossville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.

Tri-Central will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Elwood at 7:30 p.m. Elwood is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Rossville, they will head out on the road to take on Clinton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clinton Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rossville in Indiana (Clinton Central is ranked 68th, while Rossville is ranked 233rd).
