Owen had won four straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 14-3 to make it five. They blew past the Madison Patriots 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Warhorses, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Sophie Neal was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Owen let Mia Roland and Elly Wright run wild.
