Recap: Schurr Spartans vs. Mark Keppel Aztecs
The Schurr Spartans had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-0 victory over Mark Keppel on the road. The result was nothing new for Schurr, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Schurr's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Alvarado led the charge by rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown. Elias Navarro also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Schurr's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Mark Keppel, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schurr will square off against Montebello at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
