Soccer Recap: Point Pleasant Comes Up Short

Point Pleasant had taken St. Joseph Central down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Big Blacks took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irish. If Point Pleasant were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to St. Joseph Central when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Evan Bailes and Joey Pinkerton scored both of Point Pleasant's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Point Pleasant is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for St. Joseph Central, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Looking ahead, Point Pleasant will venture away from home to face off against Marietta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph Central, they will host Chapmanville Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph Central's defense better be ready for this one: Chapmanville Regional have averaged an impressive 6.1 goals per game this season.
