Volleyball Recap: Ferndale Takes Down Cornerstone Christian in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ferndale had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cornerstone Christian Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since August 22nd.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Ferndale got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-13, 14-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-10.

Ferndale can attribute much of their success to Fallon Bullan, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Bullan a new career-high.

Ferndale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Ferndale pushed their record up to 13-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cornerstone Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

Ferndale will face off against Laytonville at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cornerstone Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
