Baseball Game Preview: East Webster Wolverines vs. Booneville Blue Devils

For the second straight game, East Webster will face off against Booneville. The Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Webster is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

East Webster proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Booneville 3-2.

Jordan Gaskin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ethan Hillhouse was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

East Webster's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Booneville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-15.
