Mountain View had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-17 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Marana Tigers 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountain Lions have posted against the Tigers since March 28, 2017.

Aundre Hill was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Cleveland, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

As for Marana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 6th.

On Marana's side, Connor Ellis was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The Tigers are 3-1 when Ellis posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-16 otherwise. Preston Robbins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Mountain View didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-2 defeat against Vista Grande on the 22nd. As for Marana, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-3 loss against Cienega on the 23rd.
