Preview: Oakdale Warriors vs. East Beauregard Trojans
The Oakdale Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the East Beauregard Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only 12 points in their last matchup, Oakdale made sure to put some points up on the board against Rosepine on Friday. Oakdale blew past Rosepine 47-6 at home.
Deekota Johnson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 367 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 45 yards and a touchdown. Derrick Green was another key contributor, rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Even though East Beauregard has not done well against Basile recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. East Beauregard blew past Basile, posting a 44-13 victory on the road.
Oakdale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.6 points per game. As for East Beauregard, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.
Everything went Oakdale's way against East Beauregard in their previous matchup back in October of 2018 as Oakdale made off with a 21-0 win. Will Oakdale repeat their success, or does East Beauregard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
