            Softball Recap: Evergreen Valley Cougars vs. Gunderson Grizzlies        
        
		
        
        
            After losing to Gunderson the last time they met, Evergreen Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp  12-4 victory on Friday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cougars.
 Mackenzie Brongiel made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   eight  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Ariella Solorio was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Sakura Roberts, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  triple.
Evergreen Valley's record is now 6-8. As for Gunderson, they moved to 9-4 with that  loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen Valley will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on James Lick at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 30th. As for Gunderson, they will square off against San Jose at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
