Athens won the last time they faced Sayre and things went their way  on Friday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Redskins with a sharp  14-2 win. Considering the Wildcats have won eight contests by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Brady Flynn made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 12 batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, four  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Troy Rosenbloom was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases, four  runs,  and one  double. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Kamdyn Wheeler, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run.
 Athens  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sayre only posted  an  OBP of  .250.
Athens' record now sits at 10-2. As for Sayre, their loss was  their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-11.
 Coming up, Athens will welcome Wellsboro  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season. As for Sayre, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Williamson  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Redskins are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
