Basketball Recap: Martin County West Has No Trouble Against Loyola

Martin County West's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They took down the Loyola Crusaders 59-43. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Crusaders back in January, they had to take a 76-75 loss.

Martin County West's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Loyola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Martin County West will head out on the road to take on Edgerton at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Edgerton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Martin County West likes a good challenge. As for Loyola, they will face off against Hayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Loyola is facing Hayfield at the right time seeing as Hayfield is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
