Soccer Game Preview: Estero vs. Gulf Coast

The Estero Wildcats will square off against the Gulf Coast Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Estero is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.

Estero's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They skirted past Cape Coral 1-0. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Seahawks are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Estero's one-goal win came courtesy of Gabi Jewell, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Gulf Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Palmetto Ridge, falling 5-2.

Gulf Coast's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Estero, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1.

Estero beat Gulf Coast 3-1 in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Will Estero repeat their success, or does Gulf Coast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
