Basketball Recap: Baltic Comes Up Short

Baltic lost against Canton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Baltic Bulldogs were dealt a 68-35 loss at the hands of the Canton C-Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the C-Hawks are ranked 29th).

Baltic has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Canton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Baltic will be playing at home against Flandreau at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Flandreau has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Canton, they will venture away from home to face off against Madison at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Madison: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Canton has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
