Basketball Recap: Mckinley Tech Skates Past Bard with Ease

On Wednesday, McKinley Tech faced Bard in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The McKinley Tech Trainers blew past the Bard Falcons 74-46. Fans of the Trainers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

McKinley Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DaMontae Neclos led the charge by putting up 33 points and eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds gave Neclos a new career-high. Marcus Dunbar was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Bard still got an impressive performance from Andre Wright, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kevin Phifer, who posted seven points.

McKinley Tech pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.8 points. As for Bard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

McKinley Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-42 win against DC International on the 13th. As for Bard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-52 victory against Northwestern on the 12th.
