It was a good weekend for putting up big numbers in the state of Connecticut as players from that state appeared prominently among this week's national football stat stars.
Arkeel Newsome of Ansonia has made the stat stars list on more than one occasion and this week he comes in at No. 2 on the rushing list with 384 yards and five touchdowns in a 45-13 win over Holy Cross.
Meanwhile Travaughn Morgan of Platt (Meriden) finished second among the nation's receiving leaders this week with 286 yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions in a 50-23 victory over Rocky Hill.
Finally, Logan Marchi of St. Paul Catholic (Bristol) was among the national passing leaders with 447 yards and six touchdowns in a 80-39 loss to Torrington.
Dorial Green-Beckham of Hillcrest (Springfield, Mo.) had the performance of the week as he caught 13 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns in his team's 40-19 win over Rolla.

Earl Johnson, Golden Valley (Santa Clarita, Calif.), 25 carries for 345 yards, 3 touchdowns in a 38-20 loss to San Marino.
Harold Cooper , Hillhouse (New Haven, Conn.), 17 carries for 344 yards, 4 touchdowns in a 46-7 win over Lyman Hall.
