Baseball Game Preview: Woden Eagles vs. Gary Bobcats

The Woden Eagles will challenge the Gary Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Woden was able to grind out a solid victory over Timpson, taking the game 7-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Wade Stanaland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Brayden Dichard, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Gary and Shelbyville have met, but the home crowd finally got their W last Tuesday. Gary fell just short of Shelbyville by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bobcats have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Gary dropped their record down to 8-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Woden, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
