Baseball Recap: Morse Shipbuilders vs. Erskine Academy Eagles
The matchup between Morse and Erskine Academy on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Shipbuilders came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 14-9. The Shipbuilders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Eli Sommers made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Caden Wells was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jackson Murray was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
