Basketball Recap: South Webster Comes Up Short

South Webster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Wheelersburg Pirates, falling 52-28. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jeeps this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-42 last Wednesday.

Despite the loss, South Webster saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kennedy Hamilton posted eight points and nine rebounds. Kylie Rawlins also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

South Webster's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Wheelersburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

South Webster will square off against Minford at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wheelersburg has already played their next game (against Western Brown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
