Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Shelton Highclimbers

The Mountain View Thunder will challenge the Shelton Highclimbers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mountain View is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs last Thursday, they were much more limited against Camas on Monday. They lost 9-1 to the Papermakers. The defeat continues a trend for the Thunder in their meetings with the Papermakers: they've now lost five in a row.

Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Wilcox, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Shelton came up short against Tumwater on Thursday, falling 9-2. The Highclimbers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zaine Scott made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Shelton's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Mountain View was able to grind out a solid victory over Shelton when the teams last played back in March, winning 4-0. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Highclimbers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
