The Fort Gibson Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Claremore Zebras at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Fort Gibson sitting on four straight wins and Claremore on seven.
Fort Gibson proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let KIPP Tulsa University Prep get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Fort Gibson's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while KIPP Tulsa University Prep are ranked 135th).
Meanwhile, Claremore made easy work of Tahlequah on Friday and carried off a 5-0 win. Claremore might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by four goals or more this season.
Claremore's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Fort Gibson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
