Softball Recap: Rancho Cucamonga Comes Up Short

Rancho Cucamonga managed to slip by Bonita the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars lost 8-2 to the Bearcats on Monday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.

Rancho Cucamonga saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anabelle Infante, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Rancho Cucamonga has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Bonita, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Rancho Cucamonga will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Upland at 3:15 p.m. The Highlanders/Scots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bonita, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Glendora on the 8th.
