Preview: Scott Skyhawks vs. Hoover Huskies

Scott has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Hoover Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Scott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday.

Scott pushed their score all the way to 56, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-56 to Logan.

Scott's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Haven Tomblin, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Kelsey Harper who scored 25 points along with two blocks. Harper hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Rikki Bailey, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Hoover can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 45-34 victory over Elk Valley Christian. That 11 points margin sets a new team best for Hoover this season.

Hoover found their leader in underclassman Ayva Veltri, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natilee Hill, who scored 12 points.

Scott has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.

Scott came up short against Hoover in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 67-58. Can Scott avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
