Basketball Recap: Aion Lane's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Parkville over Dulaney

Parkville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dulaney Lions. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Lions are ranked 72nd).

Parkville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aion Lane, who on his way to 15 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Derion Thomas was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Parkville's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Dulaney, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Parkville will take on Dundalk at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Dundalk's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. Dulaney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
