Softball Recap: Butler Takes a Loss

If Butler was riding high fresh off their 25-0 takedown of Woodland Hills last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Tornado came up short against the Pine-Richland Rams on Monday, falling 19-6. The Golden Tornado have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Lily Vicari was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Annalyn Schnur, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Butler's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pine-Richland, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Butler will face off against rival Hempfield Area at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pine-Richland is set to take on their familiar foe Woodland Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
