Volleyball Recap: Spring Mills Falls to Martinsburg in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Spring Mills unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martinsburg Bulldogs on Thursday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Spring Mills started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-12.

Looking ahead, Spring Mills will face off against Herbert Hoover at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Martinsburg, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hedgesville at 7:30 p.m. on September 2.
