Football Recap: Andrew Jackson Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Deziya Byrd and Bre'sharia Collier

The Andrew Jackson Tigers didn't have quite enough to beat the Tocoi Creek Toros on Wednesday and fell 14-12. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bre'Sharia Collier and Deziya Byrd certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Collier threw for 208 yards and two TDs, while Byrd picked up 75 receiving yards and one score. Collier didn't just play on offense: she also made two total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Andrew Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Tocoi Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Andrew Jackson will challenge KIPP Bold City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Tocoi Creek, they will face off against Sandalwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so the Toros' offense will have their work cut out for them.
