Volleyball Recap: St. Albans Red Dragons vs. Ripley Vikings
St. Albans was the 2-1 winner over Ripley when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Dragons fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Red Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Sophia Eary paced St. Albans' offense, picking up four kills. Eary got some help from Ellah Smith and her seven assists. Finally, Eary was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
St. Albans' loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Ripley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, St. Albans and Ripley will both be playing Nitro the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Red Dragons will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
